HOW THIS WORKS

Post a photo of the item you want to sell along with as much info as possible, such as: dimensions, how old, condition, and price. When a member expresses interest such as "I want it" or "interested", you must give them a minimum of 6 hours to make mutually agreed upon arrangements. After 6 hours, you can go to the next person in line that expressed interest on your post.

Asking the seller a question does not guarantee you a spot in line. If you are interested but have questions, make sure to include "interested" or "I want" in your comment to be guaranteed a spot in line.

Tagging a member does not put that member in line; an individual must post interest personally.

Only comment on items you are serious about buying in a timely manner.

Sending a personal message to the seller without commenting does not guarantee you a spot in line (sellers: selling to the person who sends a message without commenting will reflect badly on you and look as though you are not following the rules).

Do not offer a member a lower price for their item on their post. After you comment, send them a personal message with your offer. Also keep in mind that FIRM means FIRM. Do not try to talk them down to a lower price if they are firm on their posting price.

Do not share a post from another group with the group's name attached to it; it will be deleted. Please take the time to make a new post when posting here.

Do not delete your sold items. Use the status button to mark your item as sold. Once marked sold, the item will self-delete in seven days. Items that self-delete are counted in VarageSale Stats program.

If you are not interested in purchasing an item, do not comment. You should never ask another member why they are selling an item or make useless comments on their posts in general.

How many items can I have up at a time?
There’s no limit, sell as much as you want. All we ask is you follow these guidelines:

ONE PHOTO PER ITEM. You may use the comment section to provide alternate views of your item.

ONE CATEGORY PER ITEM. Select the best category for your item and only post it once.

ONE ITEM PER PHOTO unless being sold as a "lot" you should only have one item in each photo.
Failure to adhere to the above posting guidelines will result in a warning, or may possibly cause you to be removed from the group. The guidelines are in place to make it easier for the system to auto delete sold items.

If you have your item listed on another site, note in the description the item is "CROSS POSTED.”

I see someone is selling something I have too; can I just make a comment on their post that I have one to sell too?
No, making your own personal post is the right thing to do (this also applies to ISO post).

If I offer more for an item than the member that is ahead of me in line, can the seller skip them and sell it to me? I really want that!
No, regardless, we use the “first/next in line” system.

I need to sell this item NOW! How do I do that?
Call it a FLASH SALE and sell it to the first person that can get the money to you.

Can I sell a car seat or other baby gear?
As long as the item has not been in an accident and it is not expired or on any recall lists. When listing a car seat or infant carrier, you must include the manufacturer, model number and expiration date. Buyers, buy at your own risk and please be informed before you commit to buying second hand baby gear.

Can I post a pet for sale or to give away?
Our group will allow members to give away or sell pets. Posts for live animals should keep the following guidelines in mind:
Only animals in good health and with a good temperament should be offered.
Puppies and kittens should not be less than 6, preferable 8 weeks old, and should be properly weaned from the mother and eating appropriate food for its age.
Members should choosy in who they just give any live animals away to, making sure the animal is going to a proper home and not to be used as bait in training viscous breeds.

What about Home Businesses?
You can now post to the Small Business Directory, under the appropriate category. If no category seems appropriate for your product or service, ask an Admin for help, or use the "Other" category.

Can I post about a fundraiser?
Absolutely! Just be sure to provide complete information including the date, time, place, and reason for the fundraiser. Please only one posting for each fundraiser activity.

The following is NOT permitted in our community:

The solicitation of donations.

The solicitation of CHEAP or FREE items. There is a free category on the page, but only items OFFERED as free will be permitted there. Asking for cheap or free items there will not be tolerated.

Real estate posted by an agent (by owner only).

Illegal items.

Stolen items.

Counterfeit items.

Any item which requires an ID to purchase (for example: alcohol and tobacco).

Many people try to sell government subsidized items, such as WIC items, and we feel that those items should be donated or given to other members that can use them. Since it is nearly impossible to know who receives WIC and who doesn't, this group will not allow the sale infant formula, baby cereal, or baby food.

Weapons and related items (for example: guns, ammo, tear gas, stun guns, knives, crossbows, etc).

Posting any items that are prohibited by VS will result in immediate removal from this group, without prior warning

The following will NOT be tolerated and will be strictly monitored and enforced:

Removing your old post and reposting it.

Posting your item more than one time.

The advertisement of other swap groups. We have never make it a habit to advertise for other groups nor do we encourage other groups to advertise for us.

The posting of "outside links" in the feed.

The use of profanity.

NO SHOW POLICY:
If you are unable to meet another member as planned and make no effort to contact the other party prior to the scheduled meet up, you will be given a strike. After the third strike, you will be removed from the group. Good communication is the key to great buying, selling, and trading experiences!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Personal information (such as your address and phone number) should NEVER be provided on a post. Always use personal messages to relay sensitive information.

This is a "buyers beware marketplace," it is your responsibility to check over all items before paying for them. We cannot force anyone to give you a refund on an item, so once the transaction is made, consider all sales final.

If you have a problem with a member, please try to work it out among yourselves amicably. If you are unable to reach an agreement, please contact an administrator and provide as many details as possible. We will try our best to resolve the issue. Please contact Michelle Boudreaux or Vee Pitre if you need assistance with a problem with another member.

Publicly bashing a member (regardless of the circumstances) will not be tolerated, and will result in an immediate suspension of your account. All issues should be handled privately.

In order to be an active member of our group, you MUST use your real Facebook account and it must be accessible at all times. We do not allow fake profiles, business profiles, duplicate profiles, or profiles for an animal/pet. There will not be any exceptions.

Selling/buying on behalf of others or allowing someone else to use your account to buy/sell is not allowed. Certain exceptions (with the permission of an admin) may be allowed at their discretion.

We as administrators are not responsible for the accuracy of any post or the the condition of any items, we are here simply to monitor and assist. We do not profit in any way from this swap site. We do it on a VOLUNTEER BASIS simply to give you an opportunity to clear out some clutter and make some cash. Please be nice to us, as we will be as nice to you as you allow us to.

We reserve the right remove any member from the group at any time.

All members must be 18 years of age or older to be a part of this group.
