I have an antique carriage lantern that works. This is not a remake It's not a knock off there's no maid in China on the bottom. There's no Phillips head screws anywhere on it so you know it's the real deal. And in order to get it to work what I would do is you can take the bottom off you put your oil in the bottom place the lid back on and burn the wick. It has original wick all 4 pieces of the glass in original top it looks great
