Shirt stays are an elasticated device worn underneath trousers to discreetly keep shirts in place, offering a practical solution to that classic problem of the shirt dislodging itself above the belt area giving rise to the ‘deflated tyre’ effect’. As a result, they are worn by a wide variety of people from office workers, the military and police as well as on formal occasions such as weddings.
After undertaking extensive market research into some of the problems people experienced with shirt stays, we chose this Y-shaped design over the garter design due to its superior practicability. The top two straps of each shirt stay attach to the bottom of your shirt by metal clips and the third strap is attached to the top of your sock - keeping your shirt down, pressed neatly against your body and your socks pulled up.
