In 1998, my special needs daughter Alexandra was born at 27 weeks gestation, weighing only 12 ounces (349 grams) and measuring 8 inches in length. She remained hospitalized in a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for seven and a half months.
This is a journal of Alex’s NICU journey and how our family survived those seven months.
