Code of Conduct

Before you start listing your items (and making lots of extra cash) please take a moment to read how this page works. If at any time you have questions or issues with another buyer/seller, please don't hesitate to contact an admin.

1. This is a yard sale site for people located in and around the Far Northeast Philadelphia and Lower Bucks Co area. You must be local to this area to join as we meet in person and do not do shipping transactions. We use the 19154 zip code as the center of our area and generally accept members within 10 miles of that zip. Feel free to join but you cannot list your items stating that you will only do a porch pick up out of the circled area. Items or member will be removed. See Map: https://www.varagesale.com/...

We hold swap nights every Monday and Thursday at 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm at the Bethel Church parking lot at Philadelphia Mills.

If you do not wish to or cannot attend swaps you may like always, schedule your own meet ups with your buyer/seller.

1. Each and Every item that is posted for sale on VS needs a photo and needs a price (if you're giving away something for free, make the price 0.00) and a description of what you are selling (size, condition, etc.) Multiple items in a photo MUST be sold ONLY together as a Lot for one price. Items posted incorrectly will be removed. If you are selling duplicate items separately, please number them. Example: 1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3.

****If you are taking orders for people, do not list those items individually because those items are already spoken for and reserved, so they actually are not available for sale to the full VS community. In that case you should just use a general photo with the total price of the order and the name of the person reserved. This way the feed isn't full of newly posted items that aren't available for sale for all members. Any posts that don't follow this rule will be removed.

All your food, beverage, over the counter medicines, vitamins, personal hygiene items, cosmetics, baby items, etc. MUST have the expiration date, sell by date, use by date, or best by date posted with the item. This rule also applies to baby and child car sets.

All items past those listed dates are PROHIBITED for sale in this group.

If you are selling your items on multiple sites (cross posting) please note that in your description.

At no time is it permitted to use other's photos to resell items purchased from this site.

You may lower the price of your item at any time, however if you feel a price increase is needed, these may only be done before ANY interest is expressed in your item. Once someone has expressed interest, the price may not be increased.

1. You may bump your items. Bumping your item will move it to the top of the feed. When your item is available to be bumped again, a blue "bump arrow" will show next to your listing. Please do not delete and repost your items to move them to the top of the feed.

2. Ultimately it's the seller's decision whom they chose to sell (or not sell) their items to, but we do suggest as a courtesy to go in the order of expressed interest.

Please express your interest directly on the item using the interested button.
Asking a question about the item can count, at the seller's discretion as expressing interest. After your question is answered and if you decide you want the item, please click the interested button.

Admins will not get involved in individual transaction disputes regarding whom an item should be sold to.

1. Tagging another member of the group does not put them in line for an item. It is just a way to show them something you might think they'd be interested in. If they are indeed interested, they still need to comment themselves.
   The ONLY exception to this is if a seller is listing an item for someone specifically (an ISO for example).

2. Please use your profile, "About Me" section to state your meet-up preferences. Example: Porch pick-ups only, Swaps, etc. It's okay to make a post if you have an emergency or change of scheduled plans. You should message your meet-up people also. Can you imagine how many posts there would be if everyone listed that they will be at swap or doing porch pick-ups every week?

3. Please don't leave each other hanging on a sale. Once you click interested, send the seller a pm to set up your meet. Be considerate and respond back to posts and PM's. It's ok to change your mind, but it's not acceptable to tell someone you're interested and then never contact or respond to their messages. If we receive too many complaints about a specific member, they will be removed from the group.

Please complete your transactions for selling and/or buying within 10 days, unless both parties agree to a different timeline.

If you are going to offer a seller less than asking price, please be respectful in your offer and PM the seller directly.

1. Keep your item status current. If it is sold, mark as sold. If it is reserved, mark it as reserved for that specific buyer. If you are selling your items in multiple groups, please update your status as soon as possible. Do not delete your sold items, you simply change the status to "sold" and it will automatically be deleted after 7 days.

Anything given away initially for free can not be resold. This includes food bank items, WIC & free government items, coupons, advertising products, promotional products, hotel products, giveaways from events, etc. Even if you paid for it some place else. They may be listed for free only.

This VS site does not permit the sale of CBD oils, cigarettes, or vapor items.

No selling of used make-up of any kind.

In addition to the above we also do not allow the listing of animals/pets for free or sale.

1. Business listings are allowed on the page but must only be posted under the Small Business Category.

2. Please use your Profile to list any details of your meet ups. Example: I do swap on Thursdays or No Swap for a Month, etc.

3. No posting of links of any kind.

4. Admin or Moderators do not assume any responsibility for the contents or transactions conducted through this site. It is up to the buyer/seller to validate any information before completing a transaction. Admin or Moderators will not be held liable due to a member’s negligence.
   Any member not pleased with the group can leave at any time. We reserve the right to PERMANENTLY BAN, ANY member from the group for ANY reason at ANY time.
