For Sale: American Made Telecaster Butterscotch Blonde w/ hard shell case.
If you read up on the ‘88 & ‘89 Telecasters you’ll find they are a favorite of long time Tele players. The word is that the guitars made in the new Corona plant before it was fully operational in 1990 were made almost entirely by hand.
Dan Smith, one of the executives brought from Yamaha to Fender in 1981 to help turn the company and image around said “at that point in time everybody hated Fender.” - The Fender Book
I didn’t do my research on the ‘88’s until I had been playing this one a few years. What I read fit with what I had come to know about this Butterscotch Blonde beauty. If feels, plays and sounds different than other Tele’s I own now or in the past. There is a quality about this guitar I guess you’ll have to come to know as I have, by playing it.
Currently, I have 3 others - a Jim Root Signature - An American Deluxe and The Mescal - a MIM Tele I’ve had for many years.
The ‘88 is the one I’ve played since I bought it. There’s just something good about it that shines through when you play it. For a number of reasons however, this is the one I am selling to another lucky player. I hope you enjoy.
The price matches the quality and unique background of this fine guitar. In the interest of a quick sale, I will entertain reasonable offers.
