Eugene Gauss Marble Sculpture - Mother

“Mother"

An exquisitely original mid-century marble sculpture hand carved and signed by Eugene Gauss (c. 1960) is one of Gauss's finest creations. The attention to detail and form is unparalleled and the juxtaposition of rough raw material with the exquisite smooth surface of polished marble, is arguably unmatched by his peers. This is a very attractive example of his work and much more commercially valued than most. Dimensions are 8.5 x 7.5 x 12.5 and weighs 30.2 lbs.

Eugene Gauss was an American artist whose work is known internationally. A number of Gauss's pieces are currently available on 1st Dibs, a prominant and respected online source for important art and whose prices are widely considered, by art experts and patrons alike, to reflect current market value of beautiful objects du art. Other online sources such as Invaluable have or are currently featuring some of Gauss's best work. A much less detailed example of Gauss's work is currently available on eBay at $2,450.
