End grain wood is the strongest part of the wood, it's also the roughest part of the wood. Coasters are sanded smooth. The end grain of the wood is used for cutting boards, that's how strong it is.

Grain is the texture and pattern of the wood. Each and every piece of wood has different patterns of grain. Some grains has lines, circles,ovals and maybe even jagged lines, some may even have a slit that may look like it's been cut. It adds character to the wood. The perfection is the uniqueness of each piece. Wood is a piece of art to me.
