Outstanding Vintage Pre-Owned Condition. Pickup in Olathe.
We acquired this sleek, clean-lined Mid-Century Modern beauty from a small local vintage furniture dealer. Crafted from solid walnut wood, the stunning legs are walnut heartwood. The table was in outstanding structural condition with a finish that was somewhat worn so my husband stripped the entire table and lightly sanded it to reveal the beautiful walnut wood grain. He refinished the entire table in Tung oil, allowing the natural beauty of the wood to show through.
To the best of our knowledge, this table was made sometime in the 1950s. There is one sizeable dovetailed drawer that glides smoothly. The drawer was missing its original pull/handle. We were unable to locate an exact reproduction so we replaced it with one that is closely patterned after the original. There is an open shelf that offers space for stacking books, magazines, baskets or displaying your treasures and all of life's small pleasures. The tabletop is large enough to accommodate a lamp, if you wish. The L.A. Period Furniture Co. makers stamp is on the back (see photo). This table will be the center of attention wherever it’s placed, whether it be next to a sofa or in a guest bedroom. Place it front and center in a small entryway and it’ll turn heads as soon as people walk through the door.
