Vintage 1960's Mid-Century Modern Record Storage Cabinet, Side Table or Nightstand, Your Choice
$85
Very Good Pre-Owned Condition.
If your extensive vinyl collection needs storage or if you just need a cool looking storage side table or nightstand, this Mid-Century Modern cabinet might be just what you need.
It was patterned after the popular Lu Van Record cabinet BUT IT IS NOT A LU VAN piece, which would be much more expensive. It’s in really great shape and can be put to use immediately.
It features 2-sliding doors (which are removable) with recessed pulls (satin nickel finish but I have the original brass recessed pulls). It can be used as a side table, nightstand, front entryway storage cabinet or vinyl record storage. There are a few scuffs that are hardly noticeable and there is a spot on the lower portion of the right side that is discolored (see photo of top) but does not detract from its beauty. For a piece that is over 60 years old, it is rock solid, stable and looks fabulous! As best as I can tell, the tapered wood legs (which can be unscrewed and removed) and cabinet frame are made from Maple wood. The sides, top and doors are faux wood grain Masonite (a popular protective backing for wooden console stereo and television cabinets from the 1960s to the 1980); the back is made from hardboard. Hardware on the legs and front of the cabinet are original.
Features:
Material: Tapered wood legs (which can be unscrewed and removed) and cabinet frame are, as best as I can tell, Maple wood; sides, top and doors are faux wood grain Masonite (a popular protective backing for wooden console stereo and television cabinets from the 1960s to the 1980), and the back is made from hardboard
Color: Mid-Tone Browns (blending well with any décor-see photos)
Dimensions: Exterior 24” x 24” x 15¾” H/W/D; Interior Cabinet 20½” x 13” W/D; Screw-off legs 9” high
Weight: Approx. 17 lbs.
