FOR EVERYONE ELSE JUST WANTING A GAS LAWNMOWER THIS IS A GOOD USED CONDITION 2-STROKE OIL/GAS LAWN MOWER READY TO GO.
I believe this is a 1970's model, made in Canada. It's labelled as: "OUTBOARD MARINE CORPORATION OF CANADA LTD; PETERBOROUGH, CANADA; MODEL# 7225; SERIAL# 165149". I believe the deck is made of aluminum/magnesium. As photos show, it's lost some original trademark LawnBoy green paint & labelling, aside from that & overall normal signs of use/wear this mower is in good used shape & is ready to go for lawn mowing.
The 21" cutting blade has been file sharpened by hand. Mower's been entirely cleaned including deck underside, so there's no grass, clippings, seeds or organic residue left on this machine, so it won't introduce any weeds/seeds or unwanted vegetation to your lawn.
Clippings can be 1) bagged or 2) side discharged. Switching between bagging & discharge mode is quick & easy. Please note: the side discharge cover plate (the green bean shaped flat cover piece on top front side of mower deck as shown in photos) isn't original Lawn Boy part. It's a homemade cover piece to replace the original cover piece which I've never had since buying this mower in 1998. While I've owned it, it's only been used occasionally, as a back up mower for the few times that my main lawnmower wasn't working.
Cutting height is quickly & easily adjusted by hand, by sliding the wheels spring loaded wheel tabs to higher or lower adjustment notches.
No oil changes ever needed for this mower as it is a 2 Stroke engine that runs on premixed gasoline & 2 stroke oil at a 40:1 mixture ratio. If you're not familiar with 2 Stroke engines & premix gas/2 stroke oil, I can explain that when you view the mower.
A rip cord to pull start mower with an on-off/kill switch to stop engine. Mower runs well, only at one one speed, no engine speed adjustment. Original primer rubber bulb is dry/broken so the solution to priming is an (included) small plastic spray bottle with a little gasoline to prime the engine by: 1) flipping hinged air filter open; 2) spraying a little gasoline a few times into the throttle/choke; 3) flipping the air filter closed; 4) pulling rip cord; 5) then engine starts. After running a few minutes to operating temperature, if you shut it off & need to start it again, it won't need priming again to start, unless it has completely cooled down or it has sat unstarted for a long time.
