1: Let's create, and keep a positive local community spirit! We live in communities together, let us...
a. Be Courteous, Be Respectful, Be Polite! Nasty, rude or vulgar behavior will not be tolerated and will result in revocation of member privileges.
b. Be Kind! NO public member bashing, or negative remarks are to be left on a members 'Praise area'. Contact admin if you feel an issue needs addressing.
c. Be Responsible! Familiarize yourself with the TOS, Prohibited Items, Rules & Guidelines, and Admin Tips. Learn to use the Platform, Post Properly, and Manage Your Items.
d. Be Honest! Correctly describe your items!!
e. Be Reliable! Communicate promptly, and show up when you say you will.
2: VARAGESALE TERMS OF SERVICE (TOS): In addition to our community rules, all members are expected to familiarize themselves, and comply with VarageSale's TOS: https://www.varagesale.com/terms-of-service.
3: PROHIBITED ITEMS: VarageSale prohibits posting of certain items on its platform. Most of these are items that have some kind of regulation or restriction normally placed on their sale. Please refer to this list for details: http://help.varagesale.com/article/371-what-items-are-not-allowed.
4: TRANSACTIONS: Admins do not get involved in member transactions and cannot dictate to a member who they should, or should not sell to, and/or buy from. Although we do give our Sellers the discretion to decide how, and to whom they wish to sell. It IS our desire that our Sellers be courteous!
Sellers: As a General Courtesy, we suggest that you:
-Post your Selling Procedures, within the "About Me" section, and/or within the Description of items for sell.
-Go in order of the inquiry accepting questions and sold in the respective order received.
-Offer a 2 hr hold policy after you answer a members question as to give them time to indicate sold.
a. ONE post per item! Duplicates will be deleted!
b. NO Price Increases once comments are placed, interest expressed, or SOLD accepted. Sellers: You Can't Do That...it's wrong to raise a price while IN communication with a member, and a bad reflection on you. That's 6 month revoke!
c. NO "Make Offers", or Bidding...SET your price!! ...you can then add, OBO. Post will be deleted!!
d. If you commit to a buyer, and have set a meet, don't sell the item from under them. That is NOT a nice selling technique! A strike will be issued! 3 strikes, and you're out!
5: MEETS: What is a Meet? = A meet is an arrangement, between two members to "Meet" at a Designated Location, on a Set Day, and Time, for item exchange.
-Be Proactive! It is the responsibility of both parties to set a meet, confirm & follow through.
-Once meet is set: Be Reliable - Be Punctual!
-Communicate! Life happens...Be Considerate, Communicate with your buyer/seller should you need to reschedule!
Members: Meets.must.be.confirmed the day of set meet. A member should NEVER go to a meet, or assumed meet WITHOUT Confirmation. If you message a member, and they don't respond, don't go. The only way we can enforce a "No Show"...is by our members having a FIRM Set Meet with a Day/Time, and WITH Confirmation...meaning BOTH parties have responded that they will be there, AT the agreed upon time.
**How to report a "CONFIRMED" No Show: Send via PM, screen shots of ALL communication, and confirmation from BOTH buyer, and seller. A member found to be in violation, will be revoked.
6: SMALL, and HOME BASED BUSINESSES: Limited to ONE ad posted in the Small Business Directory, http://help.varagesale.com/article/407-how-can-i-post-to-the-small-business-directory.
7: BABY & CHILDREN'S ITEMS:
a. CAR SEATS: When posting a car seat, you must include a photo of the manufacture and/or expiration date in the item description for safety reasons (this can usually be found on a sticker under the seat). Car seats that have been in an accident are illegal for resale. We do not allow car seats manufactured before 2012.
b. CRIBS: All cribs must meet safety standards as well. Read standards here: https://www.cpsc.gov/safety-education/safety-guides/cribs/crib-safety.
c. Please do not list recalled baby items and/or children’s toys.
8: ANIMALS: Our Group prohibits selling, donating, offering, giving away, and/or re-homing any animal.
This includes, but is not limited to: dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets; rodents such as gerbils and hamsters; avian pets, such as canaries, and parrots; reptile pets, such as turtles, lizards and snakes; aquatic pets, such as goldfish and frogs; and arthropod pets, such as tarantulas and hermit crabs. Please find an appropriate agency or site to assist you in re-homing your pet.

9: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
a. We are a Buyer.Beware.Community, and Do Not have a Return, and/or Exchange policy! CHECK.THOSE.ITEMS before you hand over the money! You can pass on the spot if the item is not as described! However, DO PM admin if you find an item has been incorrectly described.
b. Be Safe - This group has a feeling of community, but please be wise. Admins always recommend meeting in public places. Personal Information, phones numbers, addresses should only be exchanged via PM.

d. We are a 3 strikes, you're out community! Follow Community Rule #1 if all else fails!
a. We're here to help, but, before you contact admin...Read The VarageSale Terms of Service, Our Community Rules & Guidelines, Browse the Admin Tips, and any Pinned Discussions. Try to first resolve issues on your own, most issues can be resolved by simply reading, understanding, and following the rules.
b. When contacting admin, include ALL screen shots of any communication between you and the other member.
c. Admins are not responsible for the accuracy of any post, the condition of any item, your transaction, and/or meeting place.
d. Contact only ONE admin for an issue, if no response within 24 hrs, you may then contact another admin.
e. Remember, we are here to simply monitor and assist. We do not profit in any way from this site. We do it on a Volunteer Basis, simply to give you an opportunity to clear out some clutter and make some cash. Please be respectful, remember we are also regular members...busy with Work, Family, Life...and VarageSale...so please allow us time to get back to you.
