Absolutely breathtaking antique Italian Rococo Gold Gilded Mirror adorned on top with the realistic figures of two fresh young lovers sculpted in porcelain and caught in an embrace of love.

The frame is made of wood and a composition material like plaster, typical of gilded mirrors from this period, and the gilding itself is the original and untouched gold gilding which has stood the test of time remarkably well. It has a rich brassy-gold luster with the slightest tinge of green in some lighting so it was most likely gilded with a bronze pigmented gold leaf.

The ornate Baroque detailing of the frame uses swirling leaves, flowers, and acanthus and centered on both sides, a man and woman are depicted in relief. The lovers are made of porcelain and they are represented with lifelike accuracy and painstaking detail. The artist faithfully recreated this emotional moment with the look of rapturous surrender on the young woman's face as she gazes up at her lover whose eyes are filled with passion and tenderness.

The frame and the mirror are perfectly intact and in excellent condition.

The mirror has a large chain attached on the back for hanging.
