It has the capacity to be connected for cellular. But being that this ipad was released in 2012, It is mostly best used for internet browsing because many apps are no longer supported. I know for a fact Netflix is still supported on this device though. Facebook works as well. When i used it in the past for cellular, it was At&t. Im not 100% sure it can be used with any other carrier other than AT&T.
