J.P.L. French Limoges Hand Painted Tankard with Grapes, grape vines, and grape leaves. Features an extremely Unusual very heavy gilding around the top rim with Spiders & Spider Webs in relief in the Gilding. J. P. / L. green mark on the bottom, but no artist's signature that I can find. This belonged to my friend's mother, whose family worked on the Boston and Maine railway and traveled extensively, picking up many lovely and exotic items in their travels. I wish the photographs could do this piece justice. It is simply stunning!
